My first time... at DEARS, WRITE at Cabaret Voltaire

Writing, listening, immersing yourself: every month, DEARS, WRITE creates a space filled with words, voices and echoes. Join in and experiment.

Further events

DEARS, WRITE takes place on the last Wednesday of every month as part of the Soirées at Cabaret Voltaire. The events are held in English. Writing is permitted in any language. Participants are invited to bring their own texts to read aloud.

The series of events was launched in January 2024 by the artists Nicole Bachmann, Delphine Chapuis Schmitz and Robert Steinberger. Their presence at Cabaret Voltaire is rather coincidental. Yet the trio has achieved something of a rarity for Zurich. In the spirit of Dada, they create an accessible, consumption-free and exploratory space to experience writing, being and language together. And it’s all open to everyone.

No registration required, free entry, accessible facilities guaranteed. Upcoming events: 22 October 2025 | 19 November 2025 | 7.00–8.30 pm on both dates
